Last week, I ordered a DPMS Sportical rifle. When I placed the order, the gentleman told me that it would be a few days before he could ship it because they've been very busy lately. I jokingly remarked "is it because Obama may be president" and he laughed loudly and said yes.

    Oh well................

.223 ammo is hard to get in quantity , as well. The war probably has a little bit to do with it, but I doubt that's the main cause. Anyone know where I can get a few thousand rounds at a reasonable price?? I see a new Dillon 55 in my future.....

Every AR15 manufacturer is backordered because they are cranking these out as fast as they can build them. There are vast numbers of gun owners who believe Obama is a liar when he says he supports Second Amendment rights. Handguns, while not backordered, have had greatly increased sales as well.<br>

    Ken,

    See the link above.

The guys on AR15.com seem to think this is a good deal. Brian would have a better informed opinion of that than I.

Well, that's a better deal than the $125 to $150 330 round "battle packs" of M193 that did not include shipping. And this stuff will work in 1:9 to 1:12 bores. It's a bit light for 1:7. However, is it Boxer or Berdan primed? I like to reload, and if it's Berdan, it would not be worthwhile to me. In that case, I'd rather spend another $46 and get the Lake City (Federal) version (see link). But that doesn't appear to include shipping costs. If it's for a TEOTWAWKI scenario, then Berdan is just fine.

Brian, my Rock River is 1:8 twist. Any idea how it would shoot 45 gr bullets?

Tonygrz, If you ordered it directly from DPMS you will be in for a long wait, hopefully you're getting it from a dealer who has one in stock. I know because I'm a DPMS dealer and had to order one for a customer and it took months to get.

Reloading 223 at least just for blasting is pretty close to not worth it, if you're talking match quality ammo you can save a few bucks reloading.

Dove Commander, I have not shot 45 grainers through a 1:8. Only a 1:12. There's one way to find out. Try some and see how they do.

Now is a great time to get out the Dillon and load up a bunch of 5.56.

I've been wanting one for a while too...I have a mini-14 but accuracy wise it couldn't hold a candle to the AR styles

I ordered it from Bud's Gun Shop. I took the last one they had.
