The same time the B/J auction is going on so will the Russo and Steele (01-16-08/////01-20-08) which is right off the Loop 101 and Scottsdale Road ... The prices are better and it was easy to get set up as a bidder, fill out a form and get a bank letter ... The people at Russo and Steele are a lot better to deal with than the folks at Barrett Jackson ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Sold this car at Barret-Jackson ten years ago and as a seller was invited to all the parties, which was a good time. I believe the company has been sold since, but it is worth the visit and many cars are sold with no reserve.

Some people buy and sell every year just to have a new toy.

Attended Fall Auburn for many years. Great show whether in the auction tent or out in the swap meet. Barrett should be equally good or better. Best of all no snow. Enjoy. Regards Gerald

The "Goodguys" show at West World last weekend was a pretty damn impressive show and they had more vendors that you could imagine plus about 2,000 cars from all over the United States ... Last Sunday we went to Speed World for the NSS/SS/AFX and Hot Rod stop light drags and car show, not a bad way to spend the day either ... Craig Jackson has an attitude and thinks his shit don't stink but his farts give him away ... Try the Russo and Steele auction and you will have a better time and not feel like you got reamed just walking in the place ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

I went to the B-J a few years ago at the invitation of a client who was selling part of his Ferrari stable. I expected an exclusive high end affair and there were indeed a lot of outstanding vehicles there. But I was disappointed to see a significant number of repros, kit cars and cobble jobs going across the block. I just don't think that reproductions and "street rods" belong in a sale side-by-side with authentic examples of the coach builder's skill. I had a good time as a guest but could have gotten as much from the auction if I had stayed home and watched it on TV.

Expect to pay 25% more for a car than if you bought it from a pivate seller.

This 1988 560SL will be at Palm Beach Barret-Jackson this spring. 17,500 original miles. Never in driven in rain or snow. Always stored in a climate controled garage. Clear carfax, no smoke or pets ever in car. All the books and service records ( 36 oil changes in the last 19 years. Just put a new set of Michelins to replace the original Pirelli P6's runs and drives like a new car. Of course it has both tops. The convertable top is like new and has never been wet or exposed to the sun for more than a couple of hours. If any of you guys are interested give me a call.

Oh I wished I still had my 1962 Vespa ok it was made over seas but today it would be a hit with the price of gas now days.

    <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank">[IMG]</a>

I bought it for 900.00 and restored it except having the chrome bumper's re chromed but the gas tank only held about 5 gallon's of gas plus the 2 cycle oil mix.

Anyway it was a nice ride plus got a lot of questions about what the hell it was.

Well I gave it away even lost money on it after I fixed it up.

oh well wished I knew back then what I know now because I had a lot of nice cars that would almost double in price if I had kept them also a couple of motocycles.

So, in other words captain, it wasn't PRETENTIOUS enough for you. if you don't like it, go to Pebble Beach with all of the other A- holes with fat wallets and no mechanical ability.

went last year. also try the silver auction. it is at a casino about 20 miles outside of town. do a search for it. there is also another one at the biltmore. reeally high end cars. search the scottsdale/phoenix area chamber of commerce fro the listing of the car shows. russo is a reserve auction. nice cars and more favorable prices. you need plently of money at either. barrett is nice along with the vendors area. you will spend plenty of time walking all the shows. drop me an email and i might help motordoc joe1234@ameritech.net
