    That reminds me of a Marine base in the Southern end of the mainland of Japan. Don't remember the name of it but the plane would go in sideways between two mountain peaks to land. Then the runway was very uneven and since they were going to close soon(1972) they weren't doing any repairs. I flew in and out of there four times on my way to Fukuoka Japan and dreaded it. I had always loved flying and still do but that place was bad. Jackie B.
