I have a MEC 9000 reloader for 410. Is there anything better than this piece of do do out there? P&W makes a 375C or 800 plus. I am very happy with my Dillon in the other gauges. I'm looking for a dedicated 410 machine. Got to be something. Thank you, Dave T.

I have set up a 9000 for a friend. Made great shells. I also have 800+ in 410.

I have had them all.... The best is the MEC 600!

Are you weighing your shot? What issues are you having?

Shot is dropping light, some wads not seating deep enough, brass getting hung up on station 1, inconsistant crimping and primer drops, I either get a gapping hole or a crimped crushed top, and all and all it's a cheesy machine.
My 12ga old MEC Grabber was a way better built machine than this. Dave T.

MEC Sizemaster is the best single stage machine. That is all I used for 25 years.

Last year I bought .410 dies for my P/W 900. It does every bit as good a job as the MEC Sizemaster and it is really FAST. The full length shell holders (dies) keep the shell from moving around. I shoot 3000 to 4000 .410's per year. Never going back to the single stage again!

The .410 is fussy. I have a collection of reloaders but I am back to the PW 375 for 28 ga. and .410. Perfect load every time. Ron

I use a MEC 9000H and it works just fine. I have no issues with it. The 410s are a bit picky about loader adjustments, However most loaders will work fine when they are properly adjusted.

Sounds like you have some adjustments a little off OR operator errors.

Had a MEC 600jr then a Grabber and was not happy with either. The Grabber was a nightmare, bridging even #9s, inconsistent crimps, spilled shot, etc. Bought a used Hornady 366 with the thick plate. The 366 works great and solved most of the problems I had with the MECs.

Oldremfan: I'm nervius about that machine on ebay. The seller tore it apart repainted it then put it back together and not knowing anything about them.
I think I'll stay away from that one. No manuals either. Is Whitewiz a dealer? Maybe he's got something for me. Thanks, Dave T.

I have a 9000 410 loader and the best thing I did that solved a lot of problems, was to disengage the auto-index by removing the slide bracket. This really made a big difference. FWIW. JM

If you want to load 410s you will have to learn how to adjust the machine, and use the right combination of components. There is very little margin for error when reloading the 410. HMB

The best .410 reloader I've had was he PW 375 single stage. Perfect shell, but sloooow. For the past 20 years I've used a MEC Grabber in .410 and 28 with no complaints. The MECs have poor resizers, but if you use the hulls in the same gun, there is no problem.

In .410 and 28, I prefer the manual advance Grabber MECs over the 9000 series because it gives you more control. I don't see the point in buying the 9000 and then disconnecting the autoadvance.
