Brian Whalen, New York State ATA Delegate, was taken by ambulance, yesterday, Thursday, October 20, 2011, to Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, New York.

Brian had become ill on Thursday morning and was transported to Jamestown Hospital where it was discovered that he had a brain tumor over his left eye.

Brian was transported by ambulance to Buffalo where he received a battery of tests. The tests confirmed that it was a tumor the size approximately of a small orange.

The doctors and surgeons are very optimistic about Brian's condition. After reviewing the tests, they believe that the tumor is benign and it can be removed safely by surgery. They believe that Brian should be able to make a full recovery and live a normal life.

Please extend your thoughts and prayers to Brian and his family during this trying time.

We all wish and pray that Brian will make a full recovery and be able to say next year at the New York State Homegrounds in Cicero, New York, at the end of shoot-offs, "Elvis has left the Building".

Dave Cichelli, New York State Alternate Delegate

Heard today that Brian will be coming home to have tests done, not out of the woods yet. Keep prayers and good thoughts for him coming.

I talked to Brian on Saturday. Brian was released from Millard Fillmore hospital in Buffalo on Friday Night, October 21, 2011 and is now home.

On Monday and Tuesday he will take a battery of tests to see if he is up for the operation. He told me that the brain tumor was beign.

If the tests turn out okay, he will bo back to Buffalo on Friday, October 28, 2011 and be scheduled for the operation.
