At the bigger shoots I attended. I've noticed that most of the singles shooters were AA or above. How does this compare with the general membership of the ATA?

I believe that in general it's the better shooters that attend the bigger shoots. Around here, at smaller shoots, over half of the shooters turn out to be D class. I know that when we used to run a multi day shoot that had a high over all prize, when we hand wrote the prize standings prior to the second day, we wound up with a full page of D class shooters while the second page easily held all of the other classes.

Phil, if you consider the members who shot over 1000 singles, about 14% have a AA average or higher, that's over .97

In the whole ATA, it's more like 8%.
