We just ordered shells from Sunset. The limit was weight. 244 flats on 2 pallets. 164 1-1/8 oz, 60 1 oz., 20 7/8 oz. 20 gauge. We wanted 180 of the 1-1/8 oz but that put us over the weight limit.
I believe Both Rem and Win pack 112 cases of 12 ga ammo on a pallet. Fed puts only 15 cases to a layer for 120 to the pallet. At least that is how the "Wounded Warrior" shells came in.
Those pallets are typically rated at about 2000 lbs. When you go over, liability problems crop up in racks etc. So usually yu get shells off a pallet rack the folks that worry about your potential handling/racking danger take inot consideration your ability with a fork lift. Toonthey hope yoou stack one ppallet on another, but err on the sideof safety and crush of the bottom pallet. Assuming the buyer is a gambler, he may stack 8000# on the top set of boxes.
That is why the varieance to all the flats to a pallet
not my best sentences, but you get the idea
