I think a little examination via logic may be in order here. NRA always denied they were going to endorse Reid, correct? They either obfuscated this issue or outright denied it. But now they need to make a special anouncement that they aren't going to endorse Reid. Well if they NEVER WERE going to endorse Reid, why do they need to announce that they AREN'T going to endorse Reid? I don't know about you, but I seldom feel the need to anounce that I'm not going to do what I wasn't going to do anyway!

This is still a huge black eye for the country's foremost 2nd amendment proponents (their words not mine). What kind of team huddles in the corner and makes arrangements with the opposing team to throw the game because they're too frightened of the opposing team to face them, and justifies it to their fans that this is what victory looks like? None that I know of, only NRA could be that stupid, especially after all the FREEDOM and VICTORY talk they've been doing to their supporters. They really must think we their members are incredibly stupid. Isn't it interesting that the leftist/communist/socialist elites in Washington also believe we are incredibly stupid, which perhaps explains where NRA is coming from these days.

I do believe that the NRA was seriously considering endorsment of Ried earlier this summer. I contacted Mr. Cox after the article about the Clark County range was in the American Rifleman and included in the article was a tribute to Ried for his part in opening the range. The response I got from Mr. Cox sickened me. Mr. Cox explained to me what a "friend" to gun owners and sportsmen Reid really was and how much power he held in the Senate. Sounded to me like an ensorsement at the time. My question to Mr. Cox was "If total gun control in the US came down to one vote in the Senate and that vote was Ried, would the little weasel side with gun owners or the democratic party?" I received no follow up response from Mr. Cox.

Similar deal to some factions within the NRA trying to compromise for the AWB renewal in exchange for firearms manufacturer protections... One hand of the NRA did not know what the other hand was doing. You would have thought the mini-revolution they had when some hard core pro-gunners got on the BoD would have resolved this, but apparently there are compromising Fudds that have not been purged yet.

I frankly have lost a lot of respect for Chris Cox. I used to think he was an OK guy, now I percieve him as just another lying weasel who will betray the members.

NRA is a one issue organisation. Their so called approval of Reid was for him securing range funds. It is my understanding they do not get involved in any issues not related to firearms. So, with that in mind they could very well endorse a lying weasel thief chickenshit bastard if he was 2nd amendment friendly.

His vote for Kagan on the Supreme court was the kiss of death for Harry.

There is still a question of whether he got NRA money, the Campaign manager claimed he did but no one verifies it.

I've been sending the money which would have gone to the NRA-PVA to Sharron Angle, Reid's opponent. That way, the NRA is helping her out by proxy.
