I re-upped with he NRA a few weeks ago and they sent me a membership premium... an NRA badged shooting bag. It's a cheapie but it looks serviceable enough. The kicker is that it is made in China! My membership dollars (and yours) are being sent to the ChiComs. What in the hell are the NRA guys thinking? I'm sending them a letter tonight telling them I think their judgment is whacked. I'm also returning the damn bag.

Chip King, I really don't think that a government agency's sell-out to our enemie is justification for a national pro gun rights lobby group doing the same. Guys who roll over and take it or who just shrug their shoulders and say "oh well, what are you going to do about it" are either lazy, stupid or just plain fools. It's time to put our collective feet down and say "no more".

I haven't been sleeping for 20 years. I've been commenting and writing letters and boycotting each and every time I see something like this. I do my damned best not to knowingly but stuff from Communist China. These slick bastards are taking us over one dollar at a time. The last damn thing I expected was to see an patriotic organization like the NRA sending our membership $$$ to commies. It just defies logic. All I can say is they must have a buch of "bright" college idiots with zero life experience making these marketing decisions. Sad, very sad.

FWIW, I did buy an American shooting bag last year. I had a local canvas maker sew one up for me. Yes, it cost a few bucks but, it is quality made, to my standards/specs and the money stayed in America.

I am sure that I won't burst too many bubbles, but to call China a communist country is pretty laughable. It's economic system is pretty much unregulated capitalism. Its political system is an oligarchy.(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oligarchy)It's social system is minimalist socialism. In fact, our society is far more socialistic than China's in many ways. Karl Marx would be appalled at China. He would love Barack Obama.

While it is certianly a corrupt econmic environment, that does lead to certain efficiencies. Kind of like being able to payoff a building inspector and getting on with the job. Good? No. Efficient? Yes.

As for the trade deficit, it's a great system. Our treasury prints money on relatively cheap paper using high speed presses. Very efficient. We send this money to China and they send us stuff that we evidently want and that they make very cheap thanks to their low labor costs and corrupt, but efficient economic system. Consequently, a lot of our people can afford their stuff. See WalMart.

So what do the Chinese do with all that cheap paper money we send them? They use it to buy cheap paper Treasury Bonds that barely pay interest above the rate of inflation.

The best part is that all this has brought an increasing level of prosperity to China so that the common person can buy TVs and eat Kentucky Fried Chicken. This, like most of us, they prefer to going to war. In fact, what are they going to do, start a war with their best customer and a country that owes them a lot of money? Besides, who would want to try to take over and run a country where half the people thought boobs like Al Gore and John Kerry should be running the place?
