If a total ban on guns is attempted, what weaponry will be used instead?

Would there be a return to swords and spears in the never ending battle of good vs evil? The merciful bullet traded for swashbuckling dismemberment, blood and gore? Ax to the head gore?

What is the government and world leadership thinking?

No guns = world peace? All good? I don't think so.

So war should be as gruesome and gory as possible, more so than say with bodies riddled with bulletholes? Blood more blood cut off a limb?

Is this the goal of government? Or perhaps it is an attempt at letting criminal primitives win a war...a psychologial war?

How about cauldrons of hot oil? Banned?

Can I buy a nuke to hang over my fireplace?

Gun bans are NOT about guns. They are about controlling the populace. Armed people are free people. Unarmed people are subject to the whims of armed people. Thus the term 'subjects'.

Lets all go out there and run straights today ......

My point exactly. A gun ban will not stop the "subjects" from revolting because it is not about guns.

and 'where there's smoke there's fire' to quote an old adage.

History teaches us that gun bans under a tyranny can be readily circumvented.

Look at the Japanese firearms in the hands of the Filipinos, British firearms in the hands of the IRA, and the Nazi firearms in the hands of the Maquis (French Resistance).

They simply killed their oppressors and took their arms. This isn't risk free, of course, but it works.

Going further, when Bonnie and Clyde needed firearms and ammo, they simply knocked over a National Guard armory. (Despite the movies showing Clyde using a Thompson, in fact his machinegun of choice was a Browning BAR.)

Other motor bandits of the era knocked over local police stations for weapons.

The emergence and subsequent dominance of almost every culture in worls history has been associated with some advance in weaponry (or tactics) which gave military supreiority to the new "super power". This was even true in Meso-America where the Aztecs became dominant. They had access to Obsidian, a volcanic glass which they placed in a long row on the face of their war clubs. That was the game changer which enabled their culture to be dominant for several hundred years until the Spansish arrived with firearms.
