Not pretty at all.I think it will get much worse before we see any change.

I blame NAFTA on a lot of this.I live in a farming region. It took some time to really show up here.

You can really see it now.Every small town now has a food pantry.

For the first time in my life of 65 years, we have homeless people in a town of 800.

    That is just horrible.

Clearly we need to accelerate the current expansion of the federal government, increase taxes, give out more entitlements, and hasten the transfer of wealth to nations with small carbon footprints (i.e. no industry).

Believe or not, about the only numerous job in the health care industry is nursing.

It's like taking a Black Magic Marker, and crossing out everybody in society who doesn't have a college degree (along with some who do). Very Scary.

I love it, I get a bang out of some of you guys. As an example.

"Nurse in the Dr.'s office last week told me even the nurses were looking for work."

The nurses you speak of are looking for work because they are not will to work for less than top dollar. Many college grads are flipping burgers at Mickey D's because they can't get jobs in there perspective fields.

Many of you laugh at people working at Walmart because they work for low wages. I sure hope that it never happens to any of you. Your job goes south and the are no jobs in you field so when your unemployment runs out rather than starve or loose the farm you take what you can get. Only to have some of the true Americans look down their noses at you. Like you were stupid or trash or worse. You can blame the system that fine but some should think about the attitudes of those that don't think it can happen to them.

Of course it is just my opinion. An opinion from one who has been through it. I went to work for Walmart and worker for them for 4 years and 8 months it wasn't the best job I ever had. I wasn't however, on pay day ashamed to take my pay I work as hard for Walmart as I did for any Co. I ever worked for. I still have my home and I didn't starve.

BTW why does trapshooting need saving again? Look at that Map again and think about it long and hard. Then see if you still feel that all the reasons being given are the cure.

Bob, nurses ARE looking for work as many patients are not coming to see the doctor as they cannot even afford their copay,,,,I also have worked 2 or 3 jobs when needed,,,,but to say that jobs can be found is not realistic in our country today,,,,only so many can work at McDonalds and Wal-Mart, which have no openings here right now,,,,I am just afraid it will get worse before it gets better.....

Not to kick a dead horse, but there are no jobs in my area right now to speak of.

The only place you can get work here now is a bell ringer for the Salvation Army.

Even kids with degrees are trying to get on at Walmart and the fast food joints.

Read the classifieds on jobs.Very few if any.

A lot of the truckers here that had good jobs are now hauling corn and beans for the farmers at $8.00 per hour.

American politicians should hang their heads in shame. Socialism does not work, look at Europe particularly the British.Someone has to pay for handouts and everyone loses. SteveB

Politicians and their ideas propelling us into this one world government have begun a process that's destroying out country! We must VOTE all the sitting gherks OUT of office! Our manufacturing jobs are leaving the boundaries as fast as the illegals come pouring in!! This madness has to be stopped and both party's bear responsibility for this mess!

This doesn't include the seasonal layoff of the construction industry either. Have you noticed the media doesn't talk much about the unemployment rate or problems in Afghanistan? Bringing some kid back from Brazil, and pressing charges against the "Balloon parents" is more important! A lot of smiley faces about the Health Care bill too.

Horrible thing to consider this time of year. I don't know of anyone that hasn't been affected by this 'recession'. I took a pay cut on top of several weeks furlow last spring and yet I feel fortunate to still have a job. Kind of makes our preoccupation with trap shooting seem silly.

Wishing all of you on TS.com a happy holiday (don't let the grinch get you down)and hoping for improvements in 2010.

It is a sad day to see this map. I own a business and all my employees are layed off. The phone does not ring. Americans are is in for a rude awakening, once health care goes thru.

The small businesses will not be able to support itself with the paperwork needed for this, let alone the tax burden. I truly feel that the best days of the American dream are behind us now.

I try to get as many people I know to see this. it is truly amazing how many people think that this is a good thing, and that a global currancy is the way to go. I hope we can get some COMMON SENSE back in charge.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone, I hope you all have a nice day with family and friends.
