Myself and a couple of shootin buddies are going to the MI state shoot at the end of the month. A friend asked me to look for Noble Sport primers for him there. I asked him why he doesn't just use 209's or something more available. He said that Noble's are metric and all of his hulls already have had metric primers through them and he either has to continue with them or get all new hulls. My question: are there any other common primers that can be used in place of Noble sports? thanks Bill

Any of the Euro primers should work.

Rio primers are the same size as the Nobel Sports.

Cheddites and Fiocchi are some others.

Just to clarify: Cheddite and Fiocchi (current production) primers are not the same size as Rio's and Nobel's. Cheddite and Fiocchi are the same size as the standard 209 primers while the Nobel and Rio primers are a bit oversized. It's been my experience that a standard 209 primer will fall out of the primer pocket of a hull previously loaded with a Nobel or Rio primer..... Just my experience.... Dan Thome (Trap2)

Didn't the Fiocchi and Chedittes use to be larger diameter?

I used five thousand Nobelsport primers then switched to Cheddite because of cost and availability. I had no issues whatsoever with primers falling out in my gun club and old style AA hulls resized with my case conditioner.

Fiocchi 616 primers are the same size as the Nobel Sport primers, at least the batch that I have are. Cheddites used to be the same as Nobel Sports, but they became smaller when they became more commonly used.

<blockquote><I>"Rio primers are the same size as the Nobel Sports."</I></blockquote>Not so! Rios are at least .002" bigger in diameter and that's quite a bit when a press fit is involved.
