The elimination of the CCW permits law went into effect July 29, 2010, so now its legal for residents over the age of 21 to carry concealed without a permit ... The law is one of many passed by the state Legislature this past session that goes into effect today (July 29, 2010) ... Arizona joins Alaska and Vermont as the only states to allow concealed weapons without a permit ... This finally got passed and signed into law by Governor Jan Brewer, these same laws were attempted to be passed when then Gov Janet Napolitano (D) was the Governor but she failed to sign same into law and has since moved on and is now in charge of Home Land Security ... The best thing that ever happened to Arizona was getting rid of Napolitano, next it will be John "Amnesty" Mccain that has to go ... McCain is always talking "Amnesty unless its an election year and then he does a 180 and talks about border security and increased border patrols ... People are seeing that his agenda changes depending on what he thinks people want to hear ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

McCain is an anti-gun RINO. For that very reason alone he should get the boot.

If a non-resident has a CCW for their state will it be honored in Arizona or how does this law affect a non-resident that wants to have a handgun? Glenn

The web site above will show states that have reciprocal hand gun permits.

Arizona will retain its CCW permit program, but it will not be required for legal residents over 21. The Arizona permit will be required by any Arizona resident that wants reciprocal CCW in other states that accept AZ

I was an AZ resident at one time and had a permit. Then moved to Idaho and traveled back to AZ for business. I got stopped for a tail lamp out and the cop saw a weapon on my counsel. He honored my Idaho CCW. It is a disretionary thing that a cop can or cannot honor depending on his attitude and what you are up to

The part of the law never changed about reciprocity and Arizona residents still need a CCW to go into another states with reciprical privileges as well as to go into bars and restuarants here ... If your State has a reciprical agreement with Arizona then you are legal with a CCW from another state while in Arizona ... This law now allows for people to get CCW's by going to classes other than the old 8 hour course, and they can get them by attending hunters safty courses as administered by Arizona Game and Fish, or NRA firearms or safety courses also ...The new laws also stiffen penaltys for individuals who commit crimes while carrying a concealed weapon (DUH) ...

There is something thats is also interesting to say the least :

    Shooting Club Tax exemption:

Trap and Skeet shooting clubs used for educational purposes and not used for profit are exempt from property taxes ... (The Arizona Republic july 29, 2010) WPT ... (YAC) ...

Two people that must leave govt. are McCain Of AZ. and Mitch Daniels of Indiana.
Regardless of what you may hear on the news Both will sell you down the drain after they are elected.
Watch out for the repubs. throw a ringer in to run as president just to make sure what we have in stays in. Thats what happened to Indiana.
When Indiana run the Democrat Jill Long against Mitch in the last election they new she would not stand a chance and the public really had no choice. Since the election Jill got a presidintal appointment.
Newt. is a sell out also.
People should take a hard look at Mike Pence and Ron Paul. Tough decisions but it will get us out of the s847 hole quicker.
