I want to have a K-model 32 refinished in nickel or a greystone type color. Who would you reccommend and approx. how much will it cost? Only the receiver and not the front iron. Thanks, Bulge.

    Mike,

Get a hold of Frank at FET Gun and Componants in Phx ... He has a place called ROBAR that does what you are talking about and its vertually indestructable besides looking great ... Franks number is (602) 708-0982, he can give you all the information you would need ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Bulge. You might want to look into this coating for you gun. I had a barrel done and it looked good. I was going to have my TMX done but after I got the engraving done I decided to go a different route. Thanks Tom

You might also check Mahovsky's Metalife. I have seen his work and I thought it was very nice. He has a website with pics and prices.

As long as you're reasonably mechanical, you can do it yourself.

Check Caswell Plating for small kit purchases.

Doug is the guy to go to for plating.

But check out "Cerakote" before you do anything expensive, I had a gun nickel plates by Doug years ago, it's great, but recently I had another gun with worn out finish Cerakoted by KY Gun Coating using the same satin nickel color, it's amazingly good, for 1/4 or 1/3 of the cost.

I suggest you check it out. The choice of color and finish is great.

    Good luck.

This whole gun includes receiver, barrel, trigger, forend iron was Cerakoted in two tone color for $165.00

I've shot this gun with the finish for 5 weeks now. No powder residue around porting.

I shot a breal open gun that was Cerakoted and the finish was coming off like sand from the action open and closing. Maybe it was done wrong? It wasn't my gun but it soured me on Cerakote. The rifle/tactical shooter boys sure like it for barrels and actions.

I would second the Braker plating. I don't know if he does it himself or send it out, but I know that everybody I know who had it done by Doug Braker has been happy. The price is fair as you will never have to have your gun reblued/ refinished again as it lasts forever. Jeff
