New York Gun Control Law Exposed: 15 More Measures Left Out Of Final Bill

New York passed the toughest gun control laws in the nation last week. The SAFE Act called for a new assault weapons ban, among other measures. Over this past weekend, New York State Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin revealed other measures that were removed from the final bill that was eventually signed into law.

These 15 measures were pulled from the final bill:

    1. Confiscation of "assault weapons"

    2. Confiscation of ten round clips

    3. Statewide database for ALL Guns

    4. Continue to allow pistol permit holder's information to be replaced to the public

    5. Label semiautomatic shotguns with more than 5 rounds or pistol grips as "assault weapons”

    6. Limit the number of rounds in a magazine to 5 and confiscation and forfeiture of banned magazines

    7. Limit possession to no more than two (2) magazines

    8. Limit purchase of guns to one gun per person per month

    9. Require re-licensing of all pistol permit owners

    10. Require renewal of all pistol permits every five years

    11. State issued pistol permits

    12. Micro-stamping of all guns in New York State

    13. Require licensing of all gun ammo dealers

    14. Mandatory locking of guns at home

    15. Fee for licensing, registering weapons

This list reveals that gun control advocates were pushing for even harder measures to be included in the bill. But what is most telling is that these advocates were calling for confiscation of so-called "assault weapons" as well as the confiscation of magazines over five rounds, which would be almost all magazines. Another point to note is that these measures also called for a "database" or registry of all firearms in the state as well as a fee for licensing as well as registering.

A Democrat in the assembly urged McLaughlin not to share this list as it would serve to "dampen compromise."

Watch the video at the link above.... The Dem rep looks like he's about to crap his pants.

He does look rather sheepish.......totally unprepared. Typical dem.

I just imagine when the "confiscation" conversation came up they looked at each other and wondered who'd go door to door and actually collect the hardware. LOL

Wow! Can anyone here say "overreach"? The scary thing is that Cuomo and his henchmen could probably have rammed that through as well!

Thank you for the information! NY politicians are for the birds for the most part!!! It's too bad for our state! This guy at the helm thinks he's a dictator or something; hopefully he'll wind up like his old man-hittin' the highway next election cycle!
I happened to come across an article by Dr. Julius Whittaker written in 2005 where he wrote emphatically that we are on the definite wrong road prescribing all the psychotropic drugs for young kids and teens, etc. He said at that time(8 years ago) that these powerful drugs can lead to suicide, aggressive behavior, and even murder. Almost all the mass murderers have been on these drugs.
In Canada a lot of these drugs have been banned as of that time era.
What the heck direction is our great country going?????
The other thing that needs to be addressed is putting a "GAG" order on the media when one of these people do this type of hideous act, so they don't get any coverage, publicity, or fame for their acts of rage.
We need to stand united and strong against this onslaught of lawabiding citizens! Join the NRA today if you aren't a member yet!!!!

"This newly-revealed list of measures only serves to heighten awareness of how far gun control advocates want to go with the goal of registration and confiscation in their crusade against firearms. Some may call it paranoia, but is it paranoia when gun control advocates want to keep these intentions away from the public?"
