I was @ Sparta when they were making the announcement about it. They did not expect it to be open for next years Grand.

I think they said construction will start in November. Can't wait to see it on the grounds.

They should put a picture of it in the OSTA HOF building at the Cardinal.

That way a large number of people could see it. More and more every year.

Less and less at Sparta. LOL

    Chip Daddy,

You're so funny and I'm not sure too many people will "get it." But I got a chuckle out of it!

That building will cost considerably less than the one depicted a few years back!! This one looks to be a great place to have our HoF history displayed again.

If the state of Ill wants out of the money losing deal, we'll buy that re-claimed strip mine land and make payments to the state coffers till paid off??

I'd wager that Punkin is just as solid a shooter as ever since she's been in the HoF? :)

Sport shot, the ATA and Hall of Fame are seperate entities and as such rest assured ATA funds are not being used for the construction of this building.

Looks like a wonderful building befitting of those who are enshrined in the hall of fame, cant wait to see it at Sparta it looks like it will be a great addition to an already world class facility, hopefully it will be completed by next year.

Just got word of the passing of Karen Fishburn, so nothing is a sure thing when it comes to gun clubs. I'm wishing the continued success of the Cardinal Center but I also feel the national Trapshooting Hall of Fame needs to be wherever the Grand is held.
From what I'm told the new building is approximately 7200 sq feet and estimated cost will be somewhere between $1-$2 million. Leo kicked off the building fund with an auction to shoot with him at the Grand. Sadly, he wasn't able to follow through. The gentlemen from Indiana who bought the posts graciously donated the money anyway and the kids shot a four man squad.
At Leo's funeral a suggested memorial was to the museum building fund. I would be honored if anyone would like to continue Leo's efforts to put a roof over our history.
