After having dug to a depth of 20 feet, a team of archeologists discovered copper cble dating back just over 100 years. The dig was made just outside New York City. The team of scientist concluded that New York had a working telephone network over 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone, a team of archeologists from Los Angeles California conducted a dig outside the town of Oceanside California. After excavating to a depth of 20 feet, copper cable was found. Carbon dating placed it just over 200 years old. The scientists concluded that California had a phone system 100 years older than New York.

A week later, a local newspaper in Ironton Missouri reported the following, "After digging down about 30 feet in his pasture near the small town of Pilot Knob Missouri, Bubba, a self-taught archeologist reported he didn't find anything but a small piece of wood. Bubba concluded that after the piece of wood was examined and found to be almost 300 years old, Missouri had already gone wire-less."
