Hello everyone, I am not a posting person usually but I am really mad and P...Off at out State Legislature. The Democratically Controlled has passed a new series of Service Taxes that just about taxes everything we do or ever want to do. One of them is Trap-Skeep Shooting, Range Operations for Pistol/Rifle. If you go to Sen Dan Rutherfords web site you can see a list of all of the taxes these morons want to impose on us. He has the pdf file loaded and it is a list with 39 major Headings, the single spaced list in pdf form is 29 pages long. If you sneeze the Democrats want a tax from you. Shooting is all a lot ofpeople care about, but this has an impact on evey citizen in every way in IL. Many voted for change in Nov. The change being imposed is not what everyone wanted. If people do not become active and stop these politicians we are doomed. The Government is supposed to work for us. We are not to work for the Government so they can tax and give away to those who do little or nothing.

Get involved, get active, speak up. There are 912 Projects all over the State of IL and the Nation. There are Tea Parties as well. Brave citizens fought a revolution for us over 200 years ago. Lets not let them down and go quietly into the night and hide like sheep. STAND UP AND BE HEARD AND BE COUNTED...Write your state REpresentative and tell vote no on the Service Tax increase before it is too late...

Thanks for Listening...Donnie Shields Bloomington IL Bloomington Area 912 Organizer and ATA Life Member

Thank you, it is nice to know that your post supports what I have been taking heat for from cretins and imbeciles.....

Would you please get "dahaubs" opinion on this one!

When confused people support UNIONS AND SUPPORT ANTI-GUN, ANTI-SECOND AMENDMENT, ANTI-CAPITALIST ANTI-AMERICAN POLITICIANS the result is Illinois.

    If, the shoe fits wear-it.................

Just move from IL and don't ever shoot there again.

    Very simple procedure.

Once again, the State of Corpution attacks the voters and tax payers of the state. Myabe a roll back in saleries for the elected officials of our steat would help ease the burden? Or prehaps we find out were 365Million dolllars collected annaully from our tollway system which is only in the collar counites of cook county goes. Maybe a recall of aal the state elected offcials is in order. Not one of them can say fiscal responsibility not 1.

I appreciate your posting this as I was not aware of the breadth of the tax proposal. I assume most Illinoisians think this recent tax debate has been only about the state income tax. I will call both my State Senator and my Representative.

I must, however, point out one thing you said that is incorrect. The bill you cite (HB 174) did pass the State Senate on a straight party line vote; Democrats all voted Yes, Republicans voted NO. The bill has NOT been passed by the Illinois House and the Republicans are fighting hard to stick together.

    TO ALL ILLINOIS TS.COM READERS

I urge you to call your State Senator and State Rep, especially if they are Democrats, and let them know where you stand. The website with all the info you need is above.

    Gene,

You are correct I did forget that. That is what happens when you get a prompt that is so disconcerting that your blood boils. And I mean boil. We are loosing our freedom on a daily basis and being taxed to death on a daily basis.

As I said before, people need to stand up now more than ever and be counted. If we do not, there will be no need to ever stand up again because it will be illegal. The liberals will have your guns, your money and you will have nothing but a tax bill to pay for their give away agenda....

Citizens of IL, the more I think about this, the madder I am getting. Take the time and sit down and write a letter to your Illinois House of Representative and tell him or her to stop the maddness of this proposal that has passed the senate. If we do not stop them now, we will get another opportunity. It takes 10 minutes. It takes longer than that to get coffee in the drive through at McDonalds. Oh yeah, there will be more tax there too! One more reason to write.

Then join a activist group and get real vocal. We still have that right so far. Maybe not in Obamas second term....

So how much more will it cost to shoot at Sparta? This bill will not just affect people of Illinois, but all of us ATA shooters in part. I would hope that Indiana doesn't get any bright idea's.

This is more than just an IL citizen deal... every state will watch to see what everyone else is doing to generate revenue...

Contact the ATA and ask them to apply pressure to the DNR. The Grand, US Open, Skeeters, Cowboys everyone gets impacted... with a tax at Sparta... but we musn't forget the regular "joe" who shoots at Brittany, Naperville, Downers, Maywood, McHenry, Rend Lake, St. Charles, Davis, Decatur... or the hunt club proprietors...

    regards to all,

    Jay

It sure gets expensive when the government gives you everything for free.

Oppose taxes at all levels. This was true when our Founding Fathers revolted against the thieves (The English) and even more so today. I'm happy to see people calling & writing their Representatives. Those of you are old enough listen to "Taxman" by the Beatles which is on the Revolver album. What the politicians will listen to is the message "if you vote for taxes, we vote against you the next election.". BT-100dc

I guess you think everything must be free in the state of Illinois? That's nice but unrealistic. There will be taxes imposed and they are there for the purpose of keeping the state out of the red. Everyone watched as Ryan the governor who is currently serving his prison term spent this state to bankruptcy and you didn't say a word about it. Now you bitch when things are going to be taxed to help the state stay afloat. Sorry I don't agree with you and I don't like to pay extra taxes either but sometimes ya got to pay the piper. Is this the same group that's bitching about socialism?????????? And you want everything for free??????? Naaaaaahhhhhhhh this can't be that group. Dan

It's time for the free-spending politicians to cut back just like most households are having to do. Look at New York & California, keep taxing and people who can will leave these States. Spending, taxing, spending, taxing: now repeat that a trillion times and you have the Congress & Obama. Back in Ohio, when I was growning up in the 1950's, I believe the sales tax was 3%; look at it now, in some areas 7% and we're not even including the State Income Tax. State governments have not been responsible and the Federal government has contributed to the problem by mandating that State governments pay for it. Need tax revote. It's all about power and who controls the money. BT-100dc
