Well after seeing a couple gun rooms on here I decided to have one done. I will post pictures as progress is made. It is part of a planned basement redo with 2 bedrooms, bath, and gun room. We bought a small ranch single story about 5 years ago after all the kids were gone. It started as a two could be three bedroom and we did a total redo of the main floor and made it a one bedroom. Kids can't come back - no bedrooms. Hence the basement plan.
Gun room will be raised panel with fireplace. There was a family room there with fireplace we had torn out as it was badly built.

Vern, This room is beyond my abilities as you will see as time goes by. I brought in an old finish carpenter for the gun room. I will post more pictures as the job progresses. Bill

Great looking job Jeff. What part of the country are you in? I've not seen anyone loading Federal papers for some time. Any shots of the rest of the room? Good luck Bill, good finish carpenters are becoming a thing of the past. That's going to be an impressive ceiling. Bob

Must still be cold as Hell up there. You've got to much time on your hands. It should look great. Maybe the kids could sleep in it? Like, army cots?

Thank you Josh, that did work. I was unable to open Jeff's photo's. I guess he's made me think about cleaning my act up. My loading room and gun room are a mess. I think Vern described it above without ever having seen it. I know the last time my Wife was in the gun room, she just looked around very slowly at everything and said "Boy I sure hope I go before you do". Oh well! Thanks for the inspiration Jeff, that was a beautiful job you did. Bob

Vern, If I could post a picture, you'd drop that idea in a hurry. Next rainy day, I might even start thinking about organizing better. I said MIGHT think. LOL, Shoot well and often while we can, Bob

I built mine in 1993 and the wife took about 30% of it over for a utility room after we had it planned. Needless to say, its too small for my needs. Still glad I did it though.

Bill's room is nearly complete, I had a sneek preview the other day, It will be impressive when it is completed with all those Ithacas on display. Maybe time for some more pictures Bill?
