"A day after Bobby Jindal's historic win, the Republican congressman pressed ahead with his campaign pledge to clean up the state's image. He said one of his first acts will be to call a special legislative session to reform ethics laws."

"If I go down as one of the more boring but effective governors, I'll take that as a great compliment," Jindal said at a news conference Sunday. "Our people don't want to be amused by our politics anymore. We don't want to be entertained."

"Jindal won outright in the state's open primary election, finishing atop the slate of candidates with 54 percent of the vote and avoiding the need for a November runoff election. He becomes the United States' first Indian-American chief executive. He takes office in January."

"The state has a well-earned reputation for shady politics."

"Four-term Democratic Gov. Edwin Edwards is serving prison time in a bribery and extortion case involving the awarding of riverboat casino licenses. In the past decade, Louisiana has had an insurance commissioner and elections commissioner serve time in jail, and a litany of corruption cases are pending in New Orleans."

Just exactly who did you want to win, another dumocrat of ill repute??

"The election of Jindal, who is a conservative, underscores the fast-fading fortunes of the Democratic Party in Louisiana after the hurricanes.

Under Louisiana's wide-open "jungle primary" format, Jindal had a chance Saturday to win the race outright if he could capture more than half the votes in a field of 12 candidates.

He did. With nearly all precincts counted, he held 54% of the vote.

The next closest competitor, Democrat Walter J. Boasso, had 18%. Independent John Georges had 14%; Democrat Foster Campbell had 13%."

This election finally verifies who is mostly to blame in the "Katrina" fiasco,,the dumocrats,,and,,it comes from the very people who know the most about it,,the citizens of Louisiana.

    This really makes my day!!

Blanco and company (good riddance) were colossal failures.

The man is a good man and should, as all men, be judged by their character, not the color of their skin. So, palerider and your buddy under the sheets snyder, you two have just shown yourselves for what you are, rascist trash.

Not only is Bobby an American, he's a caucasian. How can one caucasian complaining about another be racist? Learn your races- Cherokee. BTW, American Indians are also caucasian.

During the whole Katrina fiasco every time I saw Blanco on TV she had that "Deer in the Headlights" clueless look about her.

Finish the job, get rid of Ray Nagin. He fits in with the past rulers, and needs keelhauling too.

No we don't agree Paladine, Cherokee is like Al Sharpton in that he sees racism in everything. Not liking Indians, Mexicans, Japanese, Koreans, or whatever doesn't make him a racist. Pale might be a jackass or even a complete idiot, but there is insufficient evidence to label him a racist.

Now, Cherokee Kid is definitely a racist.

Me thinks Bernie and pale may be the same person. If not, as for the first post Bernie, you may want to re-read it and explain why it says "Did you see what got elected Louisiana governor?" Not who but what. That is pure racism posted by probably a fat ass fool who has never done a worthwhile thing in his life.

As for you Bernie, "Not liking Indians, Mexicans, Japanese, Koreans, or whatever doesn't make him a racist." Yes it does if he doesn't like them because of what they are rather than because of who they are.

Yes, the cherokee is right: anybody who doesn't like anybody else is a racist.

"Yes it does if he doesn't like them because of what they are rather than because of who they are." Now that's some really good liberal drivel.

Ok, Cherokee Kid, I don't like you because of what you are (an idiot), so that makes me a racist. I really don't know or care who you are.

Nah, Bernie, that makes you a fool. Most true conservatives, like myself, are not racist because we believe everyone should be judged by their character and have the same opportunity to succeed or fail based upon their abilities and willingness to work hard.

Liberals are the real racists because they view people, and groups of people, as not knowing what is best for them and they want to make everyone equal regardless of their individual abilities and willingness to work hard.

Not to denigrate Gov. elect Jindal but anyone or anything would be better than Blanco! This is a sea change for Louisiana, home of the Kingish, Ray Nagin and assorted criminals - convicted or on the loose.

I wish the Gov. elect good luck and he will certainly need it. If he truly tries to change the deeply imbedded corruption of Louisiana politioce he will need an increased number of bodyguards as well.

    BERNIE,

I'm no expert, but I believe American Indians are of Aisian descent crossing over the Aleutian Chain down into North America. Not that it matters....

They stole the country from the peaceful mound builders who were the indigenous population. I don't know what other early Americans were displaced by the Mongol forebears who walked across the land bridge.
