Which is why the House GOP leadership decided to have a week long recess. They were criticized for being wimps, but it will put them past the distractions.

Lib media would have minimized the new congress anyway. Guess what, when the shooting is old news, the new Congress will still be there.

As I understand it the new congressional majority was going to repeal the Obamacare health care bill during that week in session. Then that would have died in the senate because of the majority there. So this action in Arizona and it's furious aftermath has stopped the congress from going ahead with the work it knew wasn't going thru the senate anyway. Seems to me they just got a message and decided not to waste the time working on something that was a dead end for them anyway. glad to hear it. Maybe something constructive will come out of this session and not just appearances for appearance sake. Dan

The new congress doesn't have to repeal Obamacare....just don't approve the funding. If it were to get buried in some sub-committee it wouldn't see the light of day for years. There's plenty of other pressing issues to work on.
