I got my new shotgun today and figured I would post some pics. I went with the upgraded EELL wood, the barrels are 34" unsingle, 32" O/U. It is a Beretta JEG 687 Special. I was hoping to shoot it today but the weather is not cooperating. Matt from Joel Etchen Guns was a pleasure to deal with and I couldn't had asked for a smoother transaction.

Beautiful gun Rich. I was considering selling a few guns to pick one of those up. I'm sure you'll enjoy it and it will serve you well.

    Mike,

I sold my Citori Plus to upgrade to this. I think I made a good choice. The gun feels so much better and natural to me.

I just went and shot it and the unsingle is going to take a bit of getting used to. It is very light which resulted in me driving the gun past the birds. I did break the first bird I shot at with the gun though!

Very nice. I've had my eye on one of these for when I return to the USA.

Wonder why they use different rib styling on the unsingle barrel versus the OU barrel set?

I've got one and I really enjoy it. I think it is the best combo value for the money that you can find. Good luck and break a bunch! markc2

    Rich,

Just keep in mind, it's the Indian, NOT the Arrow.

Practice, practice, practice, and that gun will treat you well.

My Rottweil was a handfull to get used to also years ago...very light and whippy. Once I masterd the swing, I went out and broke 200 straight with it...

    Enjoy your new gun !

Have you noticed how soft it shoots, especially considering those hard Beretta recoil pads?

I don't think those guns are that light - at least, not compared to the Krieghoffs I used to shoot. I always added weight to them but have no added weight on or in my 687 combo. Of course, I'm older now...

    Ed,

I can't say that I've noticed how soft it shoots, the gun has kicked my ass the last two days I shot it. I have a bruise on my face to prove it. Other than that (which I assume is a fitting problem) it is a great gun and the ones I'm breaking I am breaking solid.

I think I need to track down a good smith to get the gun properly fit to me.

Yes, that's critical with any gun. For me, face slap is an indicator of too long a stock while others say it means the stock is too short. But when you get it fitted to you, I think you'll be impressed with the comfort. Krieghoffs aren't hard-kickers and our son and I both think our 687s shoot softer.
