With our " New System " in place, I was hopeful that the average cards would get out a bit quicker this year. However, I am afraid that we are not gaining in that area. Last year, my new card was mailed out on October 9th. Looks like it may be about the same time this year.

You're doing better than me, I never got my application. Called, and was told I could "just send it in with a check for $20". Guess I'll just wait to shoot.

    Nice guy, that Neil.......

Well I don't know about the rest of you but I for one would love to know more about this fascinating " New System " mentioned above. I don't know to much about that system could someone explain it to me.

smsnyder- I suspect the 2008 averages will not be on the web site until the 2007 averages are finalized. I do have 2300 ATA targets on my 2008 card.

Sniper, that is why I wear colored len's. So Shootlow can't see them.

Shootlow is always saying, "Look deep into my eye's".

I wonder why he says that.

Hauxfan.........Will I be safe if I make it to Cedar Falls this weekend?

I've got v-lite colored glasses in case a tornado drops off shootlow at the shoot. Will that color work?

Likes-to-shoot, you aren't going to have to worry about Shootlow being dropped off in Iowa by some tornado.

There are some things that even a tornado wouldn't dare touch........lol

Zardo, I don't mind wearing dark glasses to ward off Shootlow's looking into my eyes, but I get tired of wearing garlic around my neck all the time....lol

Do you suppose it is okay to take it off while I'm sleeping???

Even my cats are starting to shun me.....lol

It's just not getting the shoot report info from clubs who held shoots right up until the end, it is getting the shoot info from clubs who requested shoot dates but have not sent in their reports. Maybe the shoot was cancelled, but if the ATA hasn't been notified, they are still "waiting" on information. I don't think the new system can help that.

I read the same info you guys do. I could certainly be wrong, but I have not seen anything that indicates there is a "new" system that would lead to earlier mailing of average cards. There is a new system for the "shooter information center" on the website, but that never had anything to do with our average cards.

    Sarge....

After 50 years in this game, with over 600,000 lifetime targets, I don't need a lecture on keeping my own records up to date. I can assure you this has always been done.

The point is this, months ago the ATA hired a firm to develop software to provide us with TIMELY INFORMATION. As of this date, I don't see that happening. As a matter of fact, we might be observing a classic example of the tail wagging the dog.
