I used hodgon recipe today at 25y. This is my 16 yard load. I curently buy factory STS for ATA shoots. I had fun with these but noticed a a bit of a delay. STS hulls CCI209 primer 15.4oz clays TGT12 wads 1oz 7.5 shot I did ok 20 22. Just for fun. I would bump them up a bit. I started loading these for my wife when she was shooting 870. I sort of started to like them.

Yes - but what Mec bushing will give me 19.5 - 20.9 gr of powder? Thanks!

Use your scale and keep trying different bushings until you find one that gets you close enough.

I find the MEC 22 bushing works very well with the new AA powder

Never understood why someone wants heavy loads for trapshooting... many 27 yarders shoot light 7 1/2 and do quite well...unless you want this for games

As a professed newbie to reloading (really new.. don't have a reloader yet!) I have a question of curiosity.. nosing on hodgdon's site popped a question for me. Don't you need to take into account the size of the shot when reloading? I want to do some 1 oz 8 1/2 or 9s for 16 yards and would the same weight of 1 oz 9s take up less space than 8s or 7 1/2s? How do you make up for this space to make sure the crimp does not cave? Or am I all wet? Please be nice -- like I said I am totally new to this...

    Thanks!

You are absolutely correct, thats why you should use a scale to set up any load.If you acquire a MEC loader there is an adjustable bar that can be had to tailor shot and powder exactly as you need for any recipe if you have patience. Roger. P.S. try 22 1/2 gr. of 7625 for the softest one ounce you will ever put through a Bbl.
