I bought some reclaimed shot that has some really big pellets in it ..about 40%.

I needed the lead for 28 and .410.

Does any know where to get something that will sift out the lead bigger than #8 or so??

    Thanks for any ideas..

Grainger supply if you have one near by, saves on the shipping.

$9.69 sq ft is the cheapest .097 opening.

Buy three 5 gallon buckets and cut the bottom out of one, a half inch from the side.

Cut the corners off the mesh, a 12" x 12" piece fits perfect and silicone it in the bottom,

Put your sifter bucket inside the other, pour in a pound or so and shake, shake, shake.

Pour anything that didn't go through the screen in the other bucket.

Saves having to build a wooden box and keeps the sifted shot from going everywhere.

    7 .100" (2.54 mm)
    7½ .095" (2.41 mm)
    8 .090" (2.29 mm)
    8½ .085" (2.15 mm)
    9 .080" (2.03 mm)

go to Ace Hardware and buy a foot of their 1/4" screen. It will stop anything bigger than 7 1/2's.

Make a small rocker box, as used for gold mining. Install the screen in the bottom over another catch box. Then rock and shake.

I was with wife at large outlet mall and went by a kitchen place with all sorts of strainers.. Bought a couple and they work fine for my #9 shot. Also search for sieves that are used in castings, etc. Good luck. jim w.

When I was making shot, the last two stages went through kitchen collenders that were set up on shakers. Worked just great.
