The only tanner I know of is in FL. After the hide is tanned I guess anyone can make a bag. But gotta get tanned first.

I did provided him with the Shamrock Leather contact info but wanted to get any other recommendations to him.

Travis Oakey here in Utah (Western Trade) does fantastic leather work and has done several shooting bags for me and also trophies for the Utah State Shoot. He can be reached at 801-491-1113 or 801-787-4766.

Going through the same thing as your friend right now. Sending Shamrock a tanned alligator next week for my brother that he shot in March. All Shamrock had to say really was we need to see it first.

What the heck? Shot an alligator? In South Dakota? Boy I hope Reptile Gardens doesn't ever find him, LOL

If they are roaming the hills of South Dakota, you can bet your butt those Bartholow men are hunting it. I look forward to seeing Fos' alligator hunting vids. :D

Grntitan, you are correct. I know Foster would be adding them to his list of things to hunt. I have not seen him for awhile as I hear is out shooting geese and coyotes and maybe looking for a Mt Lion. Sure wish I had that job.

I know I would not like being the animal he is chasing.

When you see him next look to see if he has an alligator shooting bag and you can give him crap about hunting at Reptile Gardens.
