And this is the same place where I have had to cancel the last 3 Registered Shoots for 2009 (Sept.,Oct. and Nov.) because of lack of attendance.

Two weeks ago we had and absolutely beautiful weather and had a grand total of only 6 shooters. 4 for the 16 yard event and I had to shoot in order to have the 3 required to register handicap targets. Isn't that a crying shame or what?

    Halfmile,

Is that a river or a lake that you guys shoot into?

    Any issues over lead contamination?

    Thanks,

    Bucko

Sorry to here your having such a poor showing. Cancelling shoots will not increase turn out! A trip up to Rochester to see what they do to draw a crowd might be helpful. A request to PM you suggestions might also shed light on the subject.

    Regards

Buck, it was a "borrow pit". They needed the fill for an overpass right there when they put the double lane through in 1972. They took the irt out with Tournapull scrapers.

The waters of Green Bay are a mile away, and a couple springs developed to fill the pond. The level rises and falls with the bay level. Sometimes there's a little water in the bottom of a couple of the trap houses, but not very often.

We have mined it 3 times for lead, and no issues so far. I bought a barrel of shot from the miner, and it's all gone now (back into the pond).

Several varieties of fish inhabit the pond, and some are quite tasty. One lady dragged a 5 pound smallmouth out of there a few years ago.

This is our website. There are pics of our ranges. The last Skeet field now has a new trap machine.
