A friend at the range today was asking about finding a replacement barrel for his Mod 37 12 gauge. It is in the pre 800,000 serial number range.
I told him I'd ask here and pass along any information.
    Thanks,
    Tom

The older ones have to be fitted to the receiver. They're not interchangeable.

Barrels on guns earlier than 855,000 need fitting.

what type of barrel are you looking for. ( hunting, trap, skeet?) i have a hunting one of sn 795xxx.

calvin 80,000 s/n would have to have exact s/n as in that range there were skeet and trap models made between 1941-1949. skeet 1941, 80000 to 83964 in 1949. trap 88000 in 1941 to 89969 in 1949.

16fan as per their sheet there was no 37 produced in 1945, only military. they stopped in 1942 with solid rib model 72199 and started again in 1946 with sn 72000. (1941, 70000-71500) after 1949 they started with a sn of 310000 in 1950

Les Hovencamp is the definitive expert on all things Ithaca 37. There is a chart on this site that shows serial numbers and year built. Click on REFERNCE CENTER.
