37 gr AL-7 powder, PGS over powder, 1/4" filler wad, 12 00 buck pellets packed in a shot buffer (I like too use very fine saw dust) B card over shot with a roll crimp. Works great out of my hump back Browning

    What shell length?

What end use? Low recoil tactical (target), defense, hunting?

Do not shoot anyone with a reload. You could be crucified in a courtroom.

Herb use Longshot Powder loads for 1 1/8th oz in your Rem Premier Hulls

    30.1 w/ 1 1/4oz, 33.5 w 1 1/8th oz use the WAA114 wad or Rem SP-12

the 1 1/8th oz load is 1420 fps

You can go to 35 grs w/windjammer and 1530fps, 1 1/8th oz 00 buck shot

These are fast loads for home defense.

Herb, they won't even need to ask, they will know. Don't be a fool, they will burn you in civil court.

Mr Roach, factory ammunition was not good enough so you created some extra deadly ammo to use on your victim.

"how long do you think they can keep me in jail?".... for the rest of your life. They won't likely put you in jail for reloads alone.

Herb, The same Constitution gives the mother of your "victim" the right to sue you in civil court, and she will. Just trying to explain how it will work in the worst case scenario. You wouldn't be the first person to make the mistake of using reloads for self-defense. Wouldn't it be so much simpler to buy some factory ammo.

Herb I have a master pact of Federal 2 3/4 inch 00 buck shot. That's 10 boxes of 5. This came from are Police department. Never opened. I am sure this is as good as you can get. To keep you from going to jail for the rest of your life I will sell you these shipped to your house for $40.00.

I really want to know why you can be sued for using reload for justifiably using them in defense of family and home?

AL in MI, quote: <i>"can you reference any court cases where handloaded ammo came into play??"</i>

I've never seen anyone being able to cite such a case.

It's always "a friend of a friend said" or "magazine writer Joe Fudd said".

It has been many years ago I read about such a case, and yes Brian, it was in a magazine. American Handgunner magazine and the author most likely was Mas Ayoob, not one of my favorites but he does do court cases. This is what I found with a quick search.

Civil court can be a circus, so why take the risk to save a couple of bucks. Picture Longshot in court trying to explain the need to load 00 to over 1500 after it went through the neighbor's house.

Herb, you make your own rules for the revolution, no problem.

Double OO buck is too heavy for home defense many many deer have been killed with # 4 shot or even # 6 for home defense is deadly. As a test just take some sheet rock out side and shoot it with all 3 of these loads and watch the destruction at short distances. The double OO buck will go through the walls and kill some one in an other room. I even think at close range # 7 1/2 may be all that is needed in a house.
