Can anyone provide the proper oil recommendation for a standard Western trap. These were the standard trap machine before all the automatic traps which are used today. I need to change the gear box fluid. Thanks for any help, Roger

If I remember correctly we just used ATF.

I used ATF also. Need to make sure the bronze bushing and seal are good, or a puddle happens.

ATF in the snubber ONLY. The gear box uses straight 30 weight non detergent oil.

Ed is correct. The manual calls for ATF in the X135 Snubber (7oz) and SAE 30 weight in the case. Click this link for a lubrication guide that provides more information.
