Jane Doe will retire at 62 years old. She will be allowed to keep COBRA coverage for 18 months. That will leave 18 months of no coverage until she is eligable for Medicare. She can not get other insurance because of a recent bout with cancer. Is there any way she can keep the COBRA (just for herself)for 36 months until medicare kicks in?

I figure someone(s) can answer this. You people know everything.

    Thanks very much,

    HH

Yes Hank. With a HIPAA letter she can get guaranteed issue on most HMO or PPO groups or individual plans. It will be costly... possibly more than the COBRA plan and there are certain requirements to qualify. Email me if there is more detail needed and I can send you some info. Jeff.
