What is the best flux for melting wheel weights?
Preferably something common and easily obtainable.
I live 100 miles from the closest store that may carry commercial stuff.
    Thanks

Sawdust. A large spoon full on top and mix it in. Works better than anything else I have found. It smells like burned wood so I make bullets outside.

Bee's WAX, go a hardware store that sells tolit bowl seals. Its pure bee's wax, take the rubber part off and put the rest in a can. When your lead is in the pot and melted, add a little (1/2 teaspoon) it will float most impureites to the top.

All fluxes can catch fire, so be aware of that. I have used plane canning paraffin, that you can buy at any grocer.

If you want the best use Marvelux. I often use crayons, candles, paraffin, bullet lube, or beeswax when I am out of it. The others work almost as good.
