We have a situation at our local club that I thought maybe some of you had ran into before and could offer what you guy's did to take cake of it.
We have 40 bird protections every Friday night and 60 bird protection 2nd Saturday of the month, you have to sign up to shoot these shoots but before these shoots we have 10 bird protections, this is where the problem come's in.On these shot's everyone just put's a shell down at a post to mark it so they can shot there next,we don't let anyone just leave their shell down all night so they can keep shootin but if there is an open post then you can put your shell down on it while you are still shooting and shoot in the next shoot. This system has worked pretty good but there is one group of guy's (3 of them)That only shoot one time a mounth for the most part that come in and on every Saturday night shoot they start a fight, allmost a physical fight last night, they won't put a shell down. They will show up or come out side late and stand at the post and say well I was waiting here first so your shell don't matter.Theyt have been told several time's how things work but they will tell you they don't care that is not how they are going to do it.Last night one of them pushed a fellow shooter's wife out of the way while he was haveing his fit.Me and my partner are both on the board at the club and we were trying to talk to them about this and his answer was that he was going to take my partner to the parking lot.He is in his 40's and my partner is 79.I understand we need all the shooters we can get but I don't feel we need them bad enought to put up with this every mounth.Plus we are allways trying to get new shooter's at the club and while would a new guy come back for this stuff?
What would you guy's do to take care of this situation.
    Thanks Bill

If they are club members, bring them before the board for disciplinary action. If they are not members, tell them to leave. HMB

If they are members, revoke their membership and ban them from the club, if they are not members just ban them. If they come back or won't leave call the police. If they get physical before police arrive SHOOT them, in front of plenty of witnesses.

I would guess that the rest of the shooters don't like that kind of behavior and will avoid your club if you allow it to continue.

I'd just simply tell them they are not welcome to shoot there anymore. If you continue to let them use your club eventually there will be serious trouble. Don't hesitate to call the police. Bully's cannot be tolerated at any under any circumstances. This is my opinion only.

Politely tell them that they must follow established rules. If they don't want to, inform them that they bare no longer welcome at your club. If they threaten anyone, get all of the other shooters to "escort" them to their vehicles or call the law as they are now tresspassing. They can choose to do it the hard way or the easy way. Tell them the next time they push a woman the law will be the last of their worries. There is no sense putting up with bullies.

    Hello:
over the past 38 years of going to gun clubs, i have seen some strange things. usually what a club does is talk to the individuals, then warn them. if it still does not stop, a certified letter, return receipt requested, is sent to the person stating for 1 year they are suspended to coming out and shooting at the club. should they decide to show up, they are politely asked to leave. if this does not happen, call the police to escort them off the grounds. if these shooters are not members, send the same letter, stating they have 1 year, and at that time, should they apply for membership, the bod will determine their fate. when shooters carrying guns, start pushing women around, i would say this is not the type of person most clubs need as members. if they are ata shooters, a letter to the ata would seem in order.

Your problem should have been dealt with when it first became know. To not do so could be looked at as approval of their actions and it will just become more of a problem. The fact that they "assaulted" one of your ladies should be grounds enough to expel them from the range, if not members, and the club altogether if they are.

The certified letter is a great idea. As we hear so many times......DOCUMENT - DOCUMENT - DOCUMENT! And, that could mean VIDEO documentation as well. As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words!

Just remember, you're dealing with individuals with firearms! It may be better, in the long run, to let law enforcement deal with the situation. And stand-by for the repercussions!

The rules are clearly posted at our club #1 rule who ever is in charge, Trap committee person running the show has final say, next in line is members and majority rules. Dont like it dont play. We play only games for bragging rights and trinkets, to many problems with money prizes.

We have a couple of local policeman who are members of our club. If we were having a problem like this that the Board or the desk folks couldn't deal with, I'd be inclined to ask either of our friendly cops to wear their uniform on that night and do their job by escorting these 3 people who are persona non grata off the club property.

If you have no members who are cops, then call the cops.

The last thing you need at a gun club is someone threatening people.

We used to have a problem of this kind, we stopped it by having chairs behind each post and the person in the chair had that position for the next round.

The reason we had to go to this was they used to put a ticket in the speaker for the next shoot and the shooters on the line did all the shooting.

We sell tickets or plastic chips for the buddies, the chair system is the best I have seen and we have 3 local clubs all doing the same thing, Hilltop at Harrisburg Ohio, Charlie Pidcocks Chauncy Ohio, and in Athens they do draw buddies for the shoots.

Our buddyy shoots are so big we have 3 man buddies, there are 2 guys that do not want to shoot 3 man buddies, they upset the larger group as we want to have as many shooters shooting as possible, so they don't leave.

Then 2 weeks ago we had to have a DESIGNATED shootoff spot as 3 guys woulkd walk up across the road for shootoffs and we threw 33 targets in the shootoff as no one was breaking it, the team that went there finally broke it but they use 1 1/2 oz #2s. You just can't throw that many targets and remain profitable.

These large amount of shootoff targets on different buddies was getting out of hand.

Now shootoffs last maybe 3-5 targets. That the club can handle. And the wins are spread around.
