Need help on Savage 99

    I know there has to be a few Savage 99 experts out there. I need help identifying a Savage 99. It`s a 308 win. Need to know what model this one is. Thanks Larry

    That is a Savage 99E. That was their economy model. I got a brand new one in 1966 in 300 Savage caliber for $97.75 IIRC. Somebody has added the swivels and recoil pad. The stocks are birch and the checkering is stamped in. The rotary carrier is steel. Great shooters and tough little guns.

    Numerich Arms now e-gunparts should have it and the plastic buttplate fairly cheap. Also stocks for these pop up a lot at the local gun shows (I guess bazillions of replacement stocks were made) fairly cheap as well. At least here in VA they do.
