Are you just changing the dies, or all the tooling (the latter I hope).

Changing the dies on the Platinum is simply removing the 8 hold-in pins and sliding out the old and in with the new.

To get COMPLETELY from 12 to 20 you also have to change the following:

    1. Shell Seating Post
2. Depriming Shaft
3. Wad Guide Finger and related aluminum housing
4. Pre-crimper head
5. Final Crimper
6. I "think" perhaps even the Shot and Powder Drop Tubes... not sure if you can use the 12's handily
7. Wad Seating Shaft
8. Knockout Shaft
9. Correct Powder and Shot bushings, of course

The biggest PITA is the adjusting of all the above items. Once you do this, you probably won't want to make the change-back very often. You could buy a second tool head with the 20 gauge tooling already in place and once the adjusting has been accomplished, you would not have to go through that again.

This cumbersome process is why I highly recommend the 800 Plus.

I've probably left something else out???
