    tab,

I had one done some years ago by John Doty from KC. He's passed away now but he used a "Jeweler's Finish" provided by Brownells. Before applying the finish, he used cold blueing to touch up the places where the case coloring had worn. Looked like factory new!

Brownells sells the stuff - you bake it on in an oven

there are lots of ways to touch up the areas that need color touch up but if you just need the clear coat-- you probably can do it yourself in an oven

    regards from Iowa

This proceedure has proven successful Use a good paint remover to remove the old
clear finish. After removing, wash the receiver in solvent. Spray with acrylic
plastic (Koloid clear) made by GC Electronics, Rockford, IL. This is usually
available from radio supply houses. Allow to dry for 24 hours.
