You mean the voluntary policy started/supported by the Sparta Chamber of Commerce? You realize that it's voluntary, and the C of C nor anybody else for that matter has no authority to tell Holiday Inn what they can or can't charge?

Do you ever go anywhere for any type of big event and try to book a hotel room?

You might also check rates for Holiday Inn rooms around the country - I know the rates in Tampa around the time of the Southern Grand are just as high and they aren't raising them because of the SG - that's just what they charge.

    "I rear-ended a car this morning.

So there we are alongside the road and slowly the driver gets out of
the car . . . and you know how you just-get-sooo-stressed and life-stuff seems to get funny?

Yeah, well, I could NOT believe it . . he was a DWARF!

He storms over to my car, looks up at me and says, "I AM NOT HAPPY!"
So, I look down at him and say, "Well, which one are you then?"

    . . . and that's when the fight started . ."

Maybe I misunderstood the thread title.

No need for me to call, I've already got a reservation, $123 per night. I just checked their on-line reservation system and couldn't find any availability for next year's Grand (but I didn't check every day, just a few).

Obviously no one has tried to come to Tucson in the winter either!

I remember when Those summer 19.95 a night motel 6 rates, that went to 40 then 60 and if they had a chance when the demand was right they would break 80.00, I would hate to have to try to rent a room here when the GEM show is in town, I hear rumors of 200 a night Motel6 rooms, and those are for people that plannd ahead!.

So get used to seasonally adjusted, happens everywhere, all the time. If you can get a room for one night because reservations ended up with a hole be prepared to pay well! I think they are charging for the fight on the other end were after a guest is in, that guest would rather fight then leave!

If you have a tear round demand the rates will stay even, even but high!
