Trying to post pictures for the first time. These are Myrtlewood Burl two-piece blanks that I have had drying for three years. Myrtle burl pins are much larger than Maple and Walnut, therefore much more dramatic in appearance. For those not familiar with Myrtlewood, it is an evergreen hardwood which grows only in northern California and southern Oregon within about a fifty mile range of the coast. Very dense wood with working characteristics a lot like the finest English Walnut. The shimmer in Myrtlewood is unique among gunstock woods and finishes with a deep mirror quality that is a real show stopper.

    Enjoy, Mike Mann

    Thanks,

    Eric,

Showing and selling. These are priced between $450. and $600. I've recently added a few full Tiger Striped dry rifle blanks to my stable which I'll post sometime this weekend. If any interest, contact me at the email above for particulars, measurements, etc.

Gordy, no competition, just a small fish with a few sticks of good stuff.

I bet the finished product would look great I remembered when I first started shooting a guy had a Bird' eye maple on a 870 then I saw probably the myrtle wood on a model-12 it was sure to be a gun that would not be picked up by someone that thought it was thiers.

    John,

Second reply sent. I'm taking a suite of pictures that you may be interested in as a tablemaker. Give me an idea at the above email of the sizes you are loooking for for tables. I have just harvested Big-leaf maple, myrtlewood and madrona and have some incredible pieces that will not do for gunstocks, but would make stunning tables. Look forward to hearing from you.

Ok I can say I won't get on to MR M like I do Gordy and I have no problem with gordy posting his wood at all for yall all to see but when he does the post and delete thing after he pisses someone off then I think he should be man enough to defend himself instead of deleting his post and act as he never said it to begin with.

Also if I was in the business of selling something on a site like this then I would try to think ahead of what I was saying, just think maybe even a skeetie might want to buy a wood blank from him also.

So Mike Mann I don't think you will have any problems from the others on here either as long as you don't get in the same rut as Gordy as far as making a post and then see it might hurt your buisness then delete the post but if I wanted some wood then I would ask you first before the G man!!!!!

Just made arrangements to have one of these six put on my own IAB Premier Los Angeles in January. I'll follow the entire process with a camera and post it as an educational thread when the whole deal is done. I've been asking my clients to "just send me a picture" for thirty years and have yet to see a single one. Oh, well, I'll do it myself.

The only question now is "Which one will you guys leave me for my custom stock?"

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night,

    Mike Mann
