A Perfect Sign. I can't use one though as all my neighbors are armed. Larry

Nothing like advertising to potential burglars, "GUNS IN HERE"

Because after all, you're not home 24/7/365.

This has been around the internet for years. Probably a Photoshop job. But, Tim's point is a good one that seems to be lost on lots of folks. Like guys with gun stickers plastered all over the back window of their trucks. Brilliant. If you wanted to *steal* a gun, which one would you break into first?

I would rather take the chance on robbing the house WITHOUT guns than to find the working end of one in case the owner just didn't want to answer the door....

    The best sign is:

"There's nothing in here worth dying over"

With a picture of a machete under it.

    Gotta agree with Tim,

Never tip your hand. Of course even a dumb crook would probably be able to figure out that I might have a few shotguns to go with those bird dogs patrolling the fence.

timb99, he has a garage in the back for his car. How do you know if he is in or out? Lets just say you try and pick the day I'm not.

Believe it or not guns are not at the top of the list for most burglars. They know guns will bring the heat on them even possibly Federal, they have serial numbers and will get you more time when combined with other crimes. They are generally looking for jewelry, cash, things they can carry off easy and will bring decent money. They know most real gun enthusiasts will have their guns locked up in a good safe. If we are talking gang bangers that is different they might be breaking in to look for guns but the majority of burglars aren't so the statement that the sign makes YOU more likely to be burglarized is not true.

I've seen plenty of burglary crime scenes were guns were in plain sight and not taken. So come up with some other reason not to put a sign up like that, personally I love it, I all my neighbors weren't heeled I'd do he same.

I always liked these window stickers.

Screw the dog, Beware of Owner.

    My favorite:

This house is patrolled by a loaded shotgun three nights a week. You have a 4 in 7 chance I am asleep. Do you feel lucky?
