Say what you want, the best NRA highpower shooters wouldn't scoff at this hat.
When you can consistantly hit the X at 600yds with iron sights, go ahead and laugh.
That being said, it doesn't translate well to the trap field. But then again, neither do many of the chapeaux that I see there.

Jeff, Why do you say it doesn't work on the trap field? I've been struggling converting to two eyed shooting, all of a sudden starting to come together a bit, and was strongly considering trying one of these hats. Very similar to a drill that Kay Ohye used to use, he still may for all I know. BTW, that's not a lot, but it's still fun. Thanks, Bob

85TTR- How well does it work in a cross wind? I do hope you enjoy your new hat. If I ever get one like yours, I will gladly send it to you and you can be twice as happy.

Shotgun Sjports magazine used to sell "Shootcap", a slimmed down version of this one.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that it wouldn't work...I was just thinking of the guys that I usually shoot with. I don't know if it would be worth the ribbing.
I get grief for almost all the hats I already wear there!

Basically, that hat does what the little eyeglasses-mounted sideguards do. Less wind effect with the glassses-mounted ones, though.

There used to be a program on in the 70s with Sally Fields called the Flying Nun I think she had a hat that was just like that but in white. Don't stand in a high wind with that thing or you may wind up in Muchkin Land.

I'd say that's one butt ugly hat, but who knows, you just might start a trend. A pair of red sneakers would go good with it.

Earmuffs, what a spendid idea! you could even have built in hearing protection in them earmuffs. you would be able to really concentrate since you can't see or hear anyone else.

I'm glad you guy's are having fun. Some of us really struggle and try hard at our sport, fun, or whatever you'd like to call it to try and improve ourselves. I hope there are more givers than takers in our fraternity or surely we shall reap what we deserve. Shoot often while we can, Bob

BTW, Jeff, your Dad was always a giant of a person in my mind.
