I read Brad Dysingers and Britt Robinsons articles in I-trapshooters, and they both agree along with me what thye problems are.

Easy 2 hole targets, = lesses angles.

Target throwing distances in singles, doubles and Handicap.

    Faster Shells

And I disagree with Big Don on his assessment on my suggested changes, as both
Brad and Britt both agree that the ATA is and has made un-necessary changes in the rules on TARGET PRESENTATIONS.

It is not going to drive shooters away, we had more shooters shooting them than any other target presentation, Grand American Attendance proves it.

The ATA has too many Satelite Grands, taking shooters from their states.

Grand American Point System is a Farce and poorly designed.

Too many 27 yd shooters that cannot carry a 27 yd average like Britt wrote.

Show me a PAT TRAP than can throw hard angles w/o coasting from the extreme angles.

This is just a few, but gun designs, shells, voice calls have all improved dynamically over the last 10 years.

Dr. longshot, If you hate the targets so much, don't shoot them.
How many times are you going to start the same B.S.

The attendance at the Grand is lacking based on its location more than anything else ... Lack of infratucture in the immediate area eliminates it for a lot of people ... I do not shoot the Grand and probably never will again so this is JMHO ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Same old bs from ls. Reduce target cost to $4.00 a case, ammo to $4 a box, shot to $10 a bag, primers to $50/5000,

$18 for championship targets and they will all come running back...

You all know that posting on his threads only invites more rants and threads of the same topic. You just have to ignore these threads and don't give the satisfaction of creating the controversy in the first place.

Why would "accomplished" shooters want harder targets? Are they getting tired of shoot-offs?

Don't you feel the overall economic condition has something to do with less shooters? Consider just what it costs to compete and travel, consider just how much disposible income a family man 35 to 55 years old has to play with today. College tuitions, rising medical insurance costs, rising property taxes. Just think, his wages have not kept up at the same rising rate. At one time I had two of my sons shooting registered with me. As they grew older, families, jobs, homes and what have you took over the dominence in their lives. I'd love to have them shooting along side me but those days have passed. Maybe someday. Make the targets as hard as you want. The Top Dogs will always prevail. The rest will complain or just sit out.

Many of those posting here are either delusional, or insincere. Even the ATA admits that there are problems.
