Can anyone give me information about the MX3 and MX3 Special. What is the price range for one of these and are they as well built as other Perazzi O/U's are. Thanks.

    RTchman,

The differences in these guns have been discussed here many times, the monoblock is different on the MX3. The MX3 Special has the same monoblock design (side lugs) as the MX8 and its variants. Some people may tell you the MX3 will not be as reliable as the MX3 Special, hogwash. I don't think you would ever wear out either gun. The MX3 shot top barrel first of the O/U, some clever guys had them rechoked to shoot bottom first to reduce felt recoil on 1st shot of doubles.

Since these guns have been out of production for a few years, finding a good clean used one is a challenge. Single barrel clean MX3s sell pretty fast for $3,000, add $500 to $1,000 for MX3 Special. If you find a clean combo set, give it serious consideration, you probably won't find many.

The ramped mid rib design is a favorite of many shooters.
