1972 Chevy Nova 4 door. Corvette 1968 327 bored out 60. 11.25 to 1 pistons with mid range cam. Double hump 300 HP heads. Muncie trans with a 308 rear. I have always wish I put the car on a dino machine to see what the real HP was. We think it was around 325 HP. The rednecks in my area hated the car dearly. when they poached on my land I would go after them and the car really moved out and you did not have to ask twice. Some cops that I know asked me what I was doing. To make a long strory short I told them that I was going after the poachers. Why do you ask? Instead of the rednecks running from us they are running to us because of you and that car. They said that with a good chuckle. They also said don't get hurt but keep up the good work. The car died of rust and a rearend accident. I still miss the car today.

Favorite and only real muscle car was my 1969 Charger RT, 440 Six Pack High Performance (came in mild and spicy), Torque Flight, would make a run from Tulare to LA in under 2 hours...up Grapevine at 110-120mph and if anyone knows how long and steep the Grapevine is knows that it takes massive power to run those speeds. Oh yeah, I met more than a few California Highway Patrolmen..lol. Why oh why did I ever sell it.

Cars I owned starting in 1966 when I was 16 years old. 57 Ply Fury 318 factory 2&4. 63 Dodge Polara 500 426 wedge 2&4 carbs 4 speed, 62 Dodge Polara 500 413 auto,57 Corvette triple red 4 speed,59 Corvette white with red coves 4 speed,65 Olds 442 4 speed,64 dodge Polara 383 auto, bought new 69 AMC Hurst SC Rambler Scrambler 390 4 speed also new 71 AMC Hornet SC360 4 speed. Plus a couple of AMC drag cars strip only.

Cars I own now 68 AMC AMX 390 4 speed Hunter Green go pack car,71 AMC Hornet SC 360 4 speed electric blue go pack car. Looking at a 69 and 70 AMX Jan 10 hoping to add one more or both.

My dad was the Dodge and AMC dealer in Rochester Minnesota and I was lucky to grow up during the muscle era. My brother and I tried out about every muscle car he took in on trade. After school I would work in his shop cleaning up new cars that just came in and of course I tried them out also.

The good old days for sure.

1963 Z-11--Chevy--was the fastest car around, till the Ford Fairlane Thunderbolts came out. When the engine blew--I put a 327 60 over , 13:1 compression Crane 308 cam, Edlebrock XC-8 cross ram manifold with 2 660 Holleys, Vertex mag, changed out the rear to 538 ratio-she was a screamer.

69 Torino Cobra with a 428 Cobra Jet. Street/strip car. It's been stored in my mother-in-law's barn since I quit racing in 1989.

Also have a 65 T-Bird. While not a muscle car per se, it gets up and runs like a striped ass ape. Especially at cruising speed. Pity you can't get away with cruising at a leisurely 85 - 90 mph anymore. This car was made to run at those speeds sustained for hours.

Also squirreled for a future project is an NOS 427 Side Oiler still in the crate. Medium riser heads, LeMans rods, Lemans crank, 12.6:1 pistons, and a single plane dual quad "Tunnel Wedge" intake. Also have a brand new Pete Jackson gear drive for it, which was discontinued over 30 years ago. Someday, after the kids are out of college, I'd like to get an AC 427 Cobra kit car to stuff this into.
