change doctors is right....it's not that rare.....and he or she doesn't know how to treat it.

have him go to an oncologist and confirm what type he actually has, there is waldenstrome macroglobulnemia and muliple myeloma.bot diseases of the blood proteins one large chain and the other small chain protein.

On October 2, 2010 there will be a 5 k walk / run for the cure for this disease, A close friend of mine lost his battle after the cancer returned after being in remission for three years. He had to undergo stem cell transplant in order to stop the cancer for the three years. My hope is that your father recovers completly and quickly. The walk / run will be held at the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. I'm sure that in the years that have passed since my friend passed that the medical research has found better ways to hold the dises at bay.

    Hi Don,

My name is Chad Roberts and I have been battling Mutiple Myeloma since Nov 2002. I have been treated with stem cell transplant regimes and other chemo options. I have a wonderful dr at the Huntsman Cancer Research Center and would be glad to ask if he can recommend a MM specialist in your area. Please give me. 801 254 9093-home

    Sincerely,
    Chad Roberts
