New structures have been built at the Michigan Trapshooting Association to replace the line tents. These not only look great, but will save the MTA thousands in tent rental each year.

My understanding is that this was an all volunteer project. I know Jerry Glisson and Keith Heeg took the lead. Many others volunteered long hours and large donations to make it happen, but I don't have all the names or know if they'd want them publicized.

My personal "Thank You!" to all of them.

That is nice. Looks very well built. The shooters will love that.

The covered shelters are a great idea, there is always the slim chance it might rain a bit during a shoot at Mason.

For those who said "the shooters will love them" . . . if you haven't been to the MTA they always had a large tent at the start of each two banks. The tents were where shooters checked-in and put their names on the scoresheets prior to the event. The tents were for the trap help, not the shooters. That's where they went for break, kept their gear and food, etc.

MTA Tom can clarify, but it sounds like the intent for these shelters is to replace the tents that were used by the trap help, line supervisors.
