What are the other mechanical differences besides spring type and whether or not the trigger is removeable? between mt6 and mx8?

the lockup is the same and bbls will swap?

MT6 has non-detachable trigger group with barrel selector on safety switch.

The older, original MT6 has it's unique MT6 forend attachment in the shape of a Purdey's under lug. The newer MT6 utilize the same type IV forend.

Type IV is referring to forend attachment on the barrel only. Nothing else. That means all type IV barrels interchange (minor fitting in some case).

If a MT6 has type IV barrel on it, like those late production ones, the barrel and forend are the same as any type IV guns, including MX-8, because it also has the same squared monobloc.

A type IV MT6 is exactly the same gun as Granditalia.

Other than the older forend, MT6 in general, mechanical wise, is the same as MS80, MX-12, MX-2000S except the non seashell sculpted receiver.

MT6 is also the same gun as MX-16 except the hammer springs.
