It's time for our annual Halloween Pumpkin Pie Jackpot Shoot. This Saturday, October 29th. Start time will be 10:00 AM. Shoot a 25 and you'll take home a delicious pumpkin pie. We'll have some just as good apple ones too.

High score for the event will take home a great trophy.

Ahhh, that would be the huge Carmel Apple Walnut Crunch pie.....not Sweet Cheeks. Well, maybe there could be a trade made.

C'mon out, enjoy the day and bust some clays.©

    Hope to see you there.

Here's a picture of some very happy pie winners. We set the targets so you can hit 'em. Shoot a 25......take home a pie.

Oh yeah, the guy on the left has a pretty good supply of high test "aiming fluid". All done in moderation and after the shootin.

    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v662/jimw-mn/?action=view&current=pieshoot20094.jpg" target="_blank">[IMG]</a>

Now, you don't have to dress up...down...or cross....but if you want to, you're welcome to.

    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v662/jimw-mn/?action=view&current=pieshoot20091.jpg" target="_blank">[IMG]</a>

And of course, pumpkin orange Skookum sweaters will be the norm.

Sounds like another good weather day. Bright sunshine and light winds. The 25's will come easy.

    See ya Saturday.

Pie rules: One pie per shooter. If, for some unknown reason, we don't get enough 25's, the pie's will be given away by random drawing.

    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v662/jimw-mn/?action=view&current=pieshoot20092.jpg" target="_blank">[IMG]</a>

C'mon out, its supposed to be beautiful.

    Hope to see you there.

What a great day to be out shooting and having fun. Yup, Jack is right, 82 entry's today. Lots of shooters from Wisconsin and Southern Minnesota. Thanks to everyone who shot today and a special thanks to those that traveled long distances to be part of the event.

First the pie winners. The 25's were a little slow coming in at first, but then they really started to roll in. ALL the pie's were given out for 25's shot. Eighteen 25's were turned in for the whole day but some shooters had multiple one's. One pie per shooter, that worked out good.

    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v662/jimw-mn/?action=view&current=MGCHALLOWEENJACKPOTSHOOT2011011.jpg" target="_blank">[IMG]</a>

In the group. Scott Messenger, the huge Carmel Apple Walnut Crunch, Dean Rutten, Dennis Kecker, Jimmy Bowen, Jerry Demulling, Jack Swanson, Scott Steffen, Terry Peterson, Curt Peterson, Charlie Leavitt, and Bob Smith.

Scott Messenger was gracious enough to share his treasured prize with the crowd, heaped up with whipped cream and ice cream. Thanks Scott.

    <a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v662/jimw-mn/?action=view&current=MGCHALLOWEENJACKPOTSHOOT2011012.jpg" target="_blank">[IMG]</a>

Now the 12 shooters that went home with money. Ya u betcha, there was money too.

    1st Class....Scott Messenger 49.....Terry Peterson 49

    2nd Class....Charlie Leavitt 46....Scott Steffen 46

    3rd Class....Bob Smith 45....Troy Smith 45

    4th Class....Dean Rutten 44....Jerry Demulling 44

    5th Class....Cheryl Demulling 42....Mark Hintz 42

    6th Class....Troy Hepner 39....Pat Blake 39

Ties = Singles from the front then Handicap from the front.

Again, thanks everyone for making this one to remember. Jackpot's every Saturday...Practice up for November 19th. We'll be having our Thanksgiving Turkey Jackpot Shoot. And then on November 20th the MGC Shooters will travel to Del Tone Luth to hand them Northern Shooters some turkey butt. The Club that claims the most turkeys gets bragging rights for a year. Hope to see you at both Clubs. Jimmy Bowen

Here's the Bowen Boys and their prize pies.

Big day on the rock. And Jimmy Bowen goes with first class prizes. We had 2 traps crankin all day. New kids on the chairs have been trained well. the shoot was great and the "Royal Hour" was very satisfying.

Lucky to be a part of it.

I was there....a great show. Thanks Mr. Messenger for sharing that great pie -- sure tasted sweet after shooting the line. And thanks to all those that worked so hard behind the scenes to make this event now an annual for me. I was fortunate enough to shoot a squad with one of the pie winners (Mr. Charlie L.)., along with club manager Mark and good friend Mike Sabo...

Mark me down for a pie in 2012....I shall not be denied...

Ahhh, look who's calling the kettle black.

At least I can shave and clean up a little. What the hell are you two going to do? Get a fancier gun???? Put some teeth in??? That ain't a gonna do it.

You boys missed a great time. Mark, the Lewis class even went down to where you were shooting the last time you were there.

November 19th, we'll be having our Thanksgiving Turkey Jackpot and on Sunday the 20th we're going up to Del Tone. You guy's going with?

I'll be up north trying to reduce the number of maneating deer that are running loose up there. After I finish off a few in Minnesota, I'll be traveling to Canada to rid the area of some even bigger killers. People say some of the bucks have been the cause of several deaths. Otherwise I would sure love to be there. Heck, if some grizzled old fart like Stanislaw Walkowiak can win a pie, pickings should be easy.

Besides Jimmy, just how did the Bowen fare this year in leagues at your home club, the one where you are the President? Seems like you finished a poor second once again to fine German craftsmanship. You know, maybe I could borrow one of your Boweninski's for the deer hunt. It might come in handy if I get attacked by a herd of the maneaters. After I run out of shells for my rifle, I could use the barrel of the shotgun as a club to beat the critters off me.
