Anyone have a 2011 or 2012 Dodge Hemi Pickup?

    What mileage? Please be honest!

Would you buy another one? If no - why not?

I have a 2009. bighorn ram crew cab with a 5 1/2bed. 3.90 rear end. 4wheel drive. I have about 37,000 on it. I pull a 8,000 5th wheel travel trailer. I know this is at the upper limits for my truck. When I bought it I knew I was going to pull a 5th wheel So I drove a 3/4 ton and this 1/2 ton. My wife liked the 1/2 tons ride Coil rear springs, was the only difference between the 1/2 and 3/4. I have no trouble pulling my trailer, I can tool down the road 60 65 with out any trouble. Sure on hills it down shifts a gear or two and slows down a bit. But then I don't go long distances. I think 150 to 200 miles have been my longest trip.
I had to install some helper air bags in the coil springs.

If I had to do it again I would have got the 3/4 ton with leaf springs. (got to make her happy) Plus the 3/4 ton had a larger gas tank.

Pulling the camper I get between 8 - 10 mpg.

With out it between 15 - 20 depends on how hard I push it.

A test drive of the Hemi showed 20 mpg at 60 mph when the economy system kicked in but at 70 mph the economy system never kicked in and it gave between 14 and 15 mpg. That one is out.

My 2011 1500 quad cab 4x4 averages 20 on long trips by the onboard calculator. I have not actually "paper and pencilled it". I drive between 65 and 80 depending on conditions with moderate load. I have a tonneu cover on the bed. I am told that makes a difference at high speeds.
