Looking at the Robson Communities in AZ. Located in Phoenix, Casa Grande, or Tucson. Are there any good clubs near any of these locations, and does anyone have any experience with the Robson group? Thanks Bill

Bill, I'm not familiar with the Robson homes. I can vouch for Farnsworth builders in Mesa, Signal Butte and Baseline. Casa Grand and Tucson both have clubs. Near Phoenix you have Red Mountain and Ben Avery. Good luck, Bob

I live in Peoria,Az. A suburb of Phx. with people of about 250,000. We live inn an adult 55 or over community. The name of the place is called Casa Del Dol Resort Trailer Park. It has a small putting Green, Heated Spa and Pool,Exercize room a small library, Computer Room and a big Gathering Hall for meetings and monthly dances. Somo of the units can be rented but most ar owned by the people. My wife and I own our unit and pay lot rent each month. Most of the uniots are double wide and there are some single wides. It is close to Loop 101 which can take you right out to interstate 17 go north to Wickenberg highway and you come across The Ben Avery Shooting Range The place is really clean and everyone gets along fairly well. We also look out for eachother because there are some fairly older and at times they need some attention. The Peoria bus will come in and make pickups whenn they are called. The people here hold different meetings each time of the month such as the planning meeting to figure out what people would like to do for the month. There is a large BarbAQ area outside the hall and a shuffleboard area and Botchie ball is played out in theis area to. This Court is located not far from downtown Peoria and fairly easy access to many of the other areas in the surrounding area such a Youngtown, Suncity ,Supprise,Glendale and of course Phoenix. Scottsdale and Tempe are a littled drive east off 101 and the 202 loops. There are other Gunclubs accessable in such as the Red Mountain in Scottsdale, And of course the ride to Tucsaon is a fun ride aproximately 120 mi away but all flat land all the way. You have Tumbstone in the south east and Yuma in the south west. Flagstaff North and The Virde Valley area where we get fresh vegtables at picking time. Prescott is on West from the Virde with Sadona a little farther north heading towards Flagstaff. North East is the nations of the Navaho and Hopi Indians. The Grand Canyon is West of that towards ZKingman and Lughlin and Las Vegas. Heading West on interstate 8 will take you into Sandiego and on inter 10 going West will take you into the Las Angelese area. During the winter if you like snow going North to Flagstaff and East to the White Mountins you will see snow. The Mogiyounn rim in the summer is a cool and green place to camp and fish and hike. while you are there pass through Payson. This is one of our thriving mountain cities. Just outside is the Matazatsel Casino. Goin West you will run into Prescott. This west is Arizonas first ever capitol city and there are many quaint shops and stores to visit while here. A little North West from here is Jarome. This is called our Ghost town because when the mines ran out so did most of the people. It is now mainly a nice tourist area. In many of the mentioned areas there are some Gun Clubs. Tucson had the biggest in the state until Ben Avery reopened here just recently. Ben Avery is owned and operated by the Game and Fish department of Arizona. Different kinds of shooting contests goes own here. From Trap, Skeet, Doubles to Sporting Clays with
Pistol and Rifle shooting as well. Cowboy shoots are scheduled quite offten here. Rich.(inPeoriaA.Z.)

We have a home in Pebble Creek, the Robson development in Goodyear at the SW corner of Phoenix. We are very impressed with the community and have friends that rented there for 10 years and have now bought their own home. They told me the main reason they decided to buy there is that the community and condition of the infrastructure is as good now as it was 10 years ago when they first came there. The home owner fees are very reasonable and they do not charge trail fees to use your own golf cart. They now have 45 golf holes (one 18 and three 9s) with an additional 9 scheduled to come on in the next 3 or 4 years depending on how quickly the homes are built on the most recent 9.

We like it so much at Pebble Creek that we are now building their newest home model on a golf course lot on the new 9 hole course. My wife is there at this moment selecting the granite for the counter tops.

The disadvantage is that Red Mountain and Ben Avery are both about a 45 minute drive when the traffic is at its best and ugly when it isn't, which is usually the time you are going or coming.

Robson Ranch is under development at Casa Grande and has similar home models as Pebble Creek, a great pool, recreation and tennis facility, 18 hole golf course and I believe is less than a 10 minute drive from the Casa Grande Gun Club. At this point I believe only about 15% or some of the home lots are sold so there should be great selection.

By the way, Don and Tiger Volz from Leadville, CO are the new owners of the Casa Grande Gun Club and are planning to make improvements to the facilities.

When you stand outside its like standing in front of a hair dryer or blast furnace and your right hot is hot, but it is a dry heat ... It was our 31st day of temps over 110 and its getting a little old by now, but man them winters sure make it all worth it ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Anybody know of a good rental for one person for Jan. & Feb. '08 in the area west of Tucson near the gun club and the Tucson-Sonora Desert Museum? I'm looking at a Casita in Green Valley but may be working with the museum for the two months and will also plan to spend time during the Spring Grand at the GC. Appreciate any suggestions - email posted above.
