    Hi all,

I just traded for a Pedersen Custom 1500 O/U trap gun that has a Morgan adjustable pad installed. Trouble is, it's the curved "torture device" version of the pad. I hate to buy a new pad from Brownells for $17 just to try it, since I may find I want to remove the Morgan and go with a traditional pad.

So, I thought maybe one of my fellow TS.com members might have one lying around gathering dust. If you have one that you'd be willing to part with for the price of a six pack, or a round or two of trap, let me know.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mark

Post your address I'll send you a new one. If you buy the gun send me the curved one in exchange.

Thanks Buddy, I appreciate it! Would you mind sending me an e-mail at the above address and I'll respond with my physical address. I don't want to post that info on an open forum.

    Regards,

    Mark

I have taken the grinder to a few. Not a bad solution. I suppose the pointy bastard is good if you shoot in a sweat shirt and need positive mount but I like them with about an inch ground off each point.

That way they just have a graceful cuve in them, which works better than the flat one (I have one of those too, on a skeet gun).

Thanks for the info HM. I didn't realize you could grind on the face of the pad. If I can't get the one from Buddy, I may just try a bit of "reprofiling" as you suggest.

It is a little pricey, but when I ditched the &**&**(*&*)%*%* pad on my morgan assembley,

I fitted a Gooey Pad to it.

I used a forstner bit to oepen the top screw hole, repostioned the bottum screw hole, ("you can cut thru the soft part of the with a 32 H&R pistol case, that leaves a neater hole then drilling), Then used a forstner bit to put the hole for the adjusting nut, the two extra hole I made are a little ragged as I didn't take the time to try for neat, I was due to shoot in less then twenty minutes, and used barrowed tool!

I have A new pad that If I cann't sell it will become a much neater installation!

    Al

If some is a bit creative you don't have to be stuck with the two offerings from Morgan!

I've got a straight pad also if you want it.....free!! It's been laying around for a few years...little dirty but will clean up fine.

I jusy couldn't desecrate any gun with the POS.

    Hi Doug,

That's mighty nice of you, and I sure could use the pad if Butch hasn't jumped in line ahead of me. I will find some way to compensate you though, even if it's only to "pass the favor forward".

    Thanks again,

Here's another tip for the Morgan:

Grind the ribs off the part that goes on the stock, and get a piece of Sure Tread, the stuff like black sandpaper to put on.

Now you can cant the pad too. Got 2 of them fixed like that.

    Mark,

Since you were the first to be looking for the pad, and you were the first for me to offer one, it's yours if you still want it. If not, it will then go to Butch.

    Let me know again.

I just wanted to publicly express my thanks to Buddy, aka Old One Eye, for answering my call for the recoil pad. Buddy is definitely one of the good guys, and I really appreciate his thoughtfulness.

Also thanks to Doug who also offered to provide me one. You folks are great!
